Thanks to those of you who have visited over the past two years. I'm taking a bit of a break from this blog to focus on my other duties for Macon.com. It may be permanent; I haven't decided yet.
For now, I hope you'll check out Macon.com's other blogs and use the site for all your local news and information.

Annual Cherry Blossom recommendation
Go check out her blog for all the Cherry Blossom Festival news you can stand.
To throw in my two cents, Saturday brought one of the biggest crowds I've seen in downtown Macon. Perfect weather, plenty of events, a revitalized bed race and the addition of the lawnmower races all helped. It was great to see.
Too bad the weather let everyone down Sunday and Monday, but what can you do? Maybe things will turn out better than the 'scattered T-storms, 40 percent chance of rain' forecast for next weekend The Weather Channel is currently predicting.
At least the festival got off to a good start.

Macon's food history - A call for help
I am working on a story about Macon's rich food history. I know all about the usual touchstones - H+H, Nu-Way, etc. - but want to dig a bit deeper.
I know many of you have been here longer than I, so I want to hear about your memories. Tell me about places that have come and gone, local landmarks that are well-kept secrets, famous moments that have faded with time. If it have anything to do with food in Macon, I want to hear about it.
Send your friends here, too. The more I know, the better the story will be.
